I'm so excited to share this! The past 4 months, my husband and I have been involved in starting and training leaders to begin House Parties. House Parties are community groups for those that attend Anchor (or if you're around college age!).
It's been quite an interesting ride taking the lead on getting the right people to be leaders of individual House Parties, facilitating meetings every week, figuring out logistical things and dates, and planning promotion. There have been many nights where Scott and I debrief after a meeting and just really feel discouraged yet fulfilled at the same time. While the discouragement can come from any type of thing, one reminder remains constant in our minds - this is what we're supposed to do at this point in our life.
When we first bought our house, we dreamed of the day that it would be filled with friends. It's awesome seeing all of these wonderful people come to our house to pray, discuss, laugh, and grow closer through Christ. I feel like this opportunity to lead was meant for Scott and I - for our different personalities to work together to further the Kingdom. It's quite bizarre when I really think about it. His kind heart and love for people mixed with my planning and creativity - dream team!
Mark and Leah Lamas, the Directors of Student Ministries at our church have been so instrumental in support and ideas while we work to train and launch the House Parties. We love you both so much - thank you for all you do for us.
