Erin + Brandon - Wedding Invitations

I am so excited to share these invites! I finally found my camera cord tonight (oh moving, you are horrible) and couldn't wait any longer to upload and share them!

The bride, Erin, approached me late last year about working together to create some unforgettable invites. Now, Erin and I go way back. We played soccer together from when I was in 6th grade, through junior high, and high school. Granted, Erin was on Varsity and I was on JV, only because she was an incredible player and I... not so much.

It was so special to see that email come through. I love each and every opportunity I get to design for someone's wedding, but knowing them just makes it that much more special.

Erin and her fiance (now husband) were set to get married on a destination wedding in Costa Rica and have a reception in her hometown. She wanted to convey the beach-y feel, incorporate some travel themes, but all the while keeping it eco friendly.

Our first move was the save the date. We used a map of Costa Rica while incorporating a passport feel with the stamp. I also fell in love with her colors - light blue and orange. So good. The information side mimicked the front with a subtle grid pattern. These were postcards printed on 100% recycled paper.
After that, we started to explore options for the actual invites to the reception celebration. Erin brought a HUGE idea to the table. I wish I could claim it, but it was her! She loved the idea of using seed paper as the base of the invite. Now, this option is quite expensive, but we thought of it as buying a plant for each guest! All they have to do is plant it!
After much research, I found a San Diego based company called Greenfield Paper that not only provided this kind of paper, they had an "all in one" option where minimal paper pieces were used and the invitation was sent without an envelope. PERFECT.

Then wrapped up...
I love how fancy they are, but organic, and totally good for our planet. Plant more flowers! We also made a stamp like the one shown in the save the date. My new favorite addition to all invitations. So wonderful, yet practical!

Erin, thank you for letting me be apart of your wedding day & your blooming life with Brandon. May God bless your marriage!
