LABARE HOME TOUR // THE KITCHEN

Welcome to stop #2 on the LaBare home tour! This time, we're visiting the Kitchen!
There she is! What drew us to our house was the fact that it was open. There are no dreary hallways. Lots of counter space (especially coming from a small one bedroom apt!) and those wonderful bay windows! Swoon.
As you can tell, we chose turquoise paint to brighten up this space. Turquoise is one of my favorite colors, so it just made so much sense. In the future, I'd love to move the appliances around, but we were so blessed with the gas oven and microwave coming with the house along with the fridge as a gift from Scott's parents. (Thanks!)
Here's a close up view of these awesome vintage ingredient plaques I found downtown. Here's what they say - (1) Cinnamon - "100% pure ground." "We've been adding spice to life since 1867." (2) Ginger - "Spicy Brand." "Pure imported." "Spicy Ginger is finely ground." (3) Mustard (my favorite) - "Some like it hot, some do not." I love the tone on tone action these have with the wall color.
At that same thrift store, We found this awesome key holder / magnetic board. It's so handy and we never lose our keys. Yes, Tom Petty is playing a spoon magnet guitar.
Above is my most recent treasure. I've wanted one of these for so long, but I didn't know they came in so many colors.  How do you pick one?! Well, after much deliberation, I chose the Pistachio one. I was SO excited when this came, I went to the store, got some chocolate chips and made the best cookies ever. I swear, it's all in the tools you use. Right? :)
Now, on to some fun details. I love this cute dish towel from Anthropologie. It was gift from my bridal shower. I love our "retro" kitchen clock from Target against our mint green wall (you'll see where that mint comes from soon!)
My mom got me this amazing boot umbrella holder for Christmas a few years ago. It's seriously my favorite for putting large bouquets in. Well, that was until Augustus decided to get on the trashcan (in right photo) and bop them. He blames gravity, but I blame him for that horrible missing chunk. Luckily I wasn't home when it happened. Scott tried putting it back together, but the pieces were so fine and shattered, it was a lost cause. BUT, I'm keeping it. I'll make it work somehow.
This is where gus sits when I make dinner. That, or on top of the fridge. He likes to make sure I'm doing everything right.
Thanks for coming on this leg of the tour. Not sure which room will be next. We have 4 more - TV room (AKA the golf room), the bedroom, the bathroom, and the living room! Which would you like to see?

xoxo
