Mini Home Tour

I thought I'd share some photos of our brand new (to us) home. We've gotten most everything situated the way we like, sans wall decor. We'll do that after we paint. We got a fridge, washer/dryer, internet/cable, a new bed frame, and some awesome window treatments. By no means are we close to being finished with stuff, I hope we never are. I want to continue to develop this home and make it truly ours. Above is our awesome bay window in the living room. We just put up those curtains today and can't believe the difference it made. It just opened up the whole room (well, since we had a blue sheet hanging up, of course it opened it up!). We're planning on painting the living room a soft mint green that will accent the wood flooring and go so well with those orange seats!

Augustus has made this is home, too. At first, he was so scared and hid in our bed for a few days. Now, he sprints from one side to the other of the house, jumps up on EVERYTHING, and slides around corners. He likes to sit by the windows and act like our watchdog.

Meet the bathroom floor. You have to see it to believe it. Try matching floor rugs or anything that isn't white in this bathroom. But, we just love it. Bet you don't have one like it in your house!

The bedroom is the one room closest to being done. We just have to paint! To keep it more gender neutral and calm, we're going to paint it a soft grey. We found a swatch today but it might be too light. I just think it'll look so fantastic with the red of the duvet cover and other red decor. Not to mention the bed frame. I have always dreamed of having one like this. Thankfully Scott liked it too!

We've had a lot of ups and downs so far, but nothing that we (or a plumber) can't handle. It's been such a journey and we haven't even been here a month. We were so blessed with the whole process. We had no bumps or push backs once we signed a counter offer (of only $2,000 more than we offered). Our seller purchased a roof certification that will take care of any leaks we find during the rainy season for a year, he fixed everything that needed to be fixed, and cleaned quite nicely before he was done with it. Escrow closed one day after it was supposed to, we got our keys that day, and were moved in two days later. Throughout the whole process, Scott and I were certain we were (are) supposed to be here. Things don't happen that smoothly for no reason. Thank you Lord for all your provision. This house is yours. Do with it what you will. Bring to it who you will.

By the way, we'll be having a housewarming party soon! You're invited.

xoxo
